The Best Tiramisu you will ever make

The named itself tiramisu, means pick me up in Italians most liking referring to the two caffeinated ingredients that are present in the dish, espresso and cocoa. Traditional tiramisu begins with Savoiardi Ladyfingers, light and delicately sweet sponge cake biscuits.

Tiramisu is an elegant and rich layered Italian dessert made with delicate ladyfinger cookies, Mascarpone cheese, eggs, sugar , rum ( Optional), Amaretto (optional), Marasala Wine ( Optiopnal), espresso. The delicate flavor of layers of mascarpone and Italian custard are contrasted with the darkly robust presence of espresso and sharpness of cocoa powder.

When making Tiramisu, the Savoiardi

( Ladyfinger Biscuits ) are soaked in mixture of espresso , rum or sugar. The crunchy biscuits become soft once the espresso mixture is added. Next a layer of mascarpone cheese and a layer of Zabaglione are added. Zabaglione is traditional Italian custard made up of Egg Yolk, Sugar , Marsala wine ( Optional). Tiramisu is finished with dusting of rich cocoa powder , a main components of its appearance and taste.

Now a days there are lot of variation of this beautiful and delicious dessert. It can make without alcohol, without eggs , vegan tiramisu. In every Italian restaurant you will find this dessert as it is one of the key symbolic dish of Italian Cuisine .

300ml very strongly prepared espresso, warm or room temperature

12 Ladyfingers

450g Mascarpone Cheese

4 large egg separated

100g sugar divided into two cups

480 ml heavy cream

10g of cocoa powder

2 pcs of strawberries for garnish

Method -

  1. Make Zabaglione by making double boiler , carefully start whisk the egg yolk with sugar by keeping in mind the temperature of double boiler for 8 to 9 min. or the color of the egg yolk become pale yellow color ad gets thick. Once its is done keep aside.

  2. Now make a espresso by putting hot water in the pan and coffee and little bit of sugar or rum ( optional ). Mix it very well and keep aside.

  3. Now, the a hand blender and start to blend the cream for few seconds and then add the sugar in it and continuously start to blend until the sugar mix well with cream .

  4. Once the cream whipped well, add the mascarpone cheese with cream and fold it nicely and slowly slowly . after this add egg sabayon in it and fold it well.

  5. Now , take a ceramic square shop glass container or normal container, start to dip the lady finger biscuit in the coffee and arrange it in the ceramic bowl, arrange first layer of biscuits and spread the cream and mascarpone mixture, followed by the cocoa powder and then repeat the procedure, make 2 to 3 layer of tiramisu and from top cover this with cocoa powder .

  6. At last garnish with strawberries and keep it in the chiller for 10 min. When you want to serve take 2 to 3 scoop of tiramisu and serve in the plate , sprinkle little bit of cocoa powder and garnish with strawberries .
